In the Footsteps of Abbots and Rabbis Nature Trail
Trail length: 3 km; suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, prams and wheelchair users
You can get to know the most interesting places of the Jewish Quarter, the Jewish Cemetery and the Basilica of St. Prokopius on the nature trail called “In the Footsteps of Abbots and Rabbis”, which interconnects the UNESCO monuments in Třebíč. In addition to a pleasant walk, you can collect stamps and get a reward on the way. The route starts at Charles Square.
Trail to Pekelný kopec
Trail length: 5 km; suitable for pedestrians, cyclists (mountain bikes) and prams
From Třebíč to the lookout tower on Pekelný kopec, there is a marked trail from the medical house “Poliklinika” on Vltavínská Street. At the end of the road below the lookout tower you can check your condition on the "fitness hell trail" according to the instructions on the information boards.
Bažantnice Nature Trail
Trail length: 3 km; suitable for pedestrians
The nature trail starts at the edge of the forest by the road from Třebíč to Račerovice. It leads through an alley of memorable, state-protected lime trees to the forest complex called Dolní Bažantnice. Ten stops describe the history of local forests, forest functions, forest management issues, forest protection and forest composition. You will also find information about herbs, forest animals and other representatives of the kingdom Animalia in the area. You will become acquainted with the importance of water for the forest and also with the importance of the forest in the water cycle in nature or with the importance of the forest for man, etc. At the stops you can also test your knowledge of nature while exploring different plants and animals, and verify your success at the last stop.
Mařenka Nature Trail
Trail length: 5 km; suitable for pedestrians and cyclists (mountain bikes)
The trail starts at the edge of the forest near the village of Dašov. It leads along forest paths, parallel to the blue tourist trail to the top of "Mařenka" (711 m above sea level). On the trail you will meet 11 thematic boards describing the forest with a brief presentation of animals, trees and flora in the forest. On the last information board you can read the legend connected with Mařenka.
Mohelno Serpentine Steppe Nature Trail
Trail length: 3.3 and 3 km; suitable for pedestrians
On the outskirts of the village of Mohelno there is a unique natural rarity of the Mohelno serpentine steppe, which will be introduced to you along a nature trail with spring (3.3 km) and autumn (3 km) circuits. This steppe represents a unique community of serpentine rocks on the right bank of the meandering Jihlava River. It is one of the most valuable locations in the Czech Republic and Europe. The steppe is exceptional because the subsoil is made of serpentine that accumulates heat well. The serpentine soil is rich in magnesium but is nutrient-poor. Therefore, there is a very diverse fauna and flora on the steppe, including critically endangered species such he Notholaena marantae, ladder spleenwort, European mantis, European green lizard and others. At the beginning of the trail is a mound of the Iron Age reminding of earlier settlements.
Sádek Nature Wine Trail
Trail length: 2 km; suitable for pedestrians
A part of the hotel complex and the Sádek winery is a unique wine trail, where the visitor can get acquainted with 40 different wine varieties. The propagating material was provided by the winery of the gene bank of important wine-growing institutions on the continent. The varieties presented are all of the genus Vitis and many of them are now available in only a few places in the world (e.g. Chaouch blanc, Yellow Muscat, etc.). The trail also includes a demonstration of different types of cut and grapevine guidance. All varieties are illustrated and described in colour. A pleasant walk through the vineyards can be completed by tasting wines from local produce and other Moravian areas. The trail is open with expert commentary from May to October for groups of 10 people. The tour must be booked in advance.
Hrotovice Region Nature Trail
Trail length: 5 km; suitable for pedestrians and cyclists
The nature trail is a closed circuit with sixteen stops provided with information panels presenting fauna, flora, forest and forestry activities and hunting. The trail passes through the forest, around the ponds and around the excavations of the medieval village of Mstěnice, where you can learn about the history of this extinct village.
Grasel Trail at Nové Syrovice
Length of the trail: 10 km; suitable for pedestrians and cyclists
The nature trail leads from Nové Syrovice, which is part of the so-called Grasel Trails. They pass through the villages of Slavonice, Vratěnín and on the Austrian side through Dobersberg and tell the story of the contradictory personality of Johann Georg Grasel. The word “grázl” is used in the Czech language after him. Already as a young man, he became the leader of a robbery band that feared the whole region. As a proof, we can also consider the fact that he still lives in songs and folk narratives to this day. The trail leads through places where Grasel and his band robbed and hid. The trail starts from Novosyrovický pond, behind which there used to be Grasel s birthplace. It leads through an untouched and clean landscape rich in forests, alleys and ancient roads.
Nature Trail Along Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou
Trail length: 3 km; suitable for pedestrians
About 3 km long nature trail with fourteen stops leads visitors through the town of Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou and presents the most important sights, such as the Baroque chateau and the church of St. Margaret, chateau park, Otokar Brezina museum, sculptures, other attractions and history.
Náměšť nad Oslavou Cultural Promenade
Trail length: 3 km; suitable for pedestrians
The town of Náměšť nad Oslavou boasts many monuments that are imaginarily connected by the Cultural Promenade. It is a walk around the attractions that are accompanied by information boards. Within the Cultural Promenade you will see a Renaissance chateau, a baroque bridge, a chapel of St. Anna, etc.
The Fairy Tale Journey or the Little Man s Wandering
Trail length: 4 km; suitable for pedestrians
The theme of Fairy tale is, as you can expect, fairy tales. The journey awakens the imagination of children and adults. Children will learn how to move around in the forest and how to protect the natural environment. The journey begins and ends at the village of Panenská near the town of Jemnice. Along the journey you will find 11 stops with information board, bench and wooden fairy tale character. Each stop is connected with a fairy tale story with a competition task.
