Interactive Exposition of Journeys Through Time, Crafts of the Past
Where have the old crafts gone? To museum! On the ground floor of one of the wings of the Třebíč Castle there is a permanent exposition entitled Crafts of the Past. It follows on from the interactive exposition of Journeys Through Time and reminds of almost forgotten crafts such as gingerbread making, blueprinting, saddlery, pearl processing and millinery. Each room features one or two crafts, including products.
However, seeing the sights in Třebíč is not boring even for the youngest family members. In the castle front there is an interactive exposition of Journeys Through Time, where they can try exactly what is forbidden elsewhere.
The exposition is interactive, which means you can try all sorts of things. First you will take a look under the lid of the masters of medieval architectural engineering and try their work. Can you control a medieval crane? You will get to medieval Třebíč, where you will find out how the town was being founded, who was sitting in the town hall and what the city rights included. You will then assemble Třebíč as a puzzle according to changes over the centuries. You will become a journeyman and learn in traditional crafts.
In addition to the classical tours, there are lecturing programmes for school groups and nursery schools. The exhibition also hosts traditional events such as carnivals and children's day.
